Tuesday, Peet's Coffee and Tea announced they had acquired ownership of Stumptown Coffee. This is big news, and great news for Stumptown. Yet, the coffee company that has spurred much of the independent growth in the industry is now owned by one of the largest.

The sudden announcement has spurred much chatter, and we decided to sit down for an episode of Coffee Lovers Radio and mull over the potential consequences and effects of the acquisition, along with some of our general thoughts and observations on the trends in the industry over the past year or two.
