Hello and welcome back to the Become a Coffee Connoisseur Series

In the first part, you learned about the basics of brewing a great cup of coffee at home. Hopefully, you’ve got yourself a French Press or other brewer and are regularly making yourself some great coffee, thinking about all the steps involved – even if just on the weekends.

From where you are now, to full-on coffee connoisseurship, is a huge mountain range of knowledge and experience.

I’ve got a path I want to take you on.

And by the end of it, if you embrace what I have to share…

You’ll be brewing and enjoying some of the best coffee in the world, just as I do…

And you’ll easily be able to wow your friends and family making people say such things like

“I had no idea coffee could taste like this!”

In order to get there, we need to take a dive down the rabbit hole.

I remember the first time a notable coffee professional remarked that I not only had a great understanding of taste in coffee, but a notable skill in communicating the experience.

The height of coffee expertise in the world right now is the certified status called ‘Q Grader.’ You can think of these people as quality graders, as they are certified to apply an internationally accepted quality rating for any coffee, based primarily on taste and aroma.

It’s not exactly the ‘sommolier’ of the coffee industry (it’s much more technically based), but it’s pretty comparable.

Imagine being able to traverse the globe, meet with anyone over coffee, regardless of their language, their social experiences, their culture, and be able to accurately and clearly talk about the nuanced taste and aroma of a coffee…

It’s like being someone who speaks dozens of languages – because you can communicate with anyone in any language about coffee who understands these things…

And even if they aren’t as well versed as you are in the language of coffee, you’re still going to be able to make a connection

There’s nothing more internationally adventurous than knowing coffee and being able to communicate and share that experience

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”http://www.extractedmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/c2_3.jpg” align=”center” align_tablet=”center” align_phone=”” align_last_edited=”on|desktop” _builder_version=”3.23″ max_width=”75%” max_width_tablet=”” max_width_phone=”100%” max_width_last_edited=”on|phone” module_alignment=”center”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text – 4″ _builder_version=”3.27.4″ text_font_size=”22px” max_width=”75%” max_width_tablet=”” max_width_phone=”100%” max_width_last_edited=”on|phone” module_alignment=”center”]

So, when you are diving into the world of craft coffee, and trying to learn the language, develop understanding, and communicate…

To have a professional Q Grader remark on your ability to describe taste and aroma experiences…

It’s hard to get better than that (aside from actually getting the certification myself)

I’m not here to make you a Q Grader – that’s something for the coffee industry.

But I can give you the language and experience that will help you traverse and adventure through the cultures of the world with coffee.
